The Jook Savages, under various names including the "Even Worse Jug Band", have been making music since the early 60's ('61 or '62) in Minneapolis. In the mid-60's, they migrated to California and played around San Francisco sharing the stage with the Mothers of Invention and many others. They have continued playing jugband music back in Minnesota and have played at every Battle of the Jugbands since the inception of that event and were instrumental in getting the Battle started.
