Jim Jackson wasn't recorded with jug band instrumentation, but he probably mingled with them in and around Memphis, and he certainly influenced them with his songs. His biggest hit, "Kansas City Blues," was recorded multiple times by the Memphis Jug Band, and Jim Kweskin and the Jug Band revived "I'm Wild About My Lovin'" in the 1960s. The latter remains a jam favorite for jug bands today.
