I was in Greenwich Village during the entire existence of this group and had quite a few chances to jamb with some of its members. Like the Jim Kweskin Jug Band the Even Dozen Jug Band was musical benchmark in my life. Hanging out around Boston and New York from 1962 through 1964, I was heavily influenced in the jug band musical form by these two groups and many of their individual members. When I enlisted in the Air Force to avoid being drafted in February 1965, I took all that experience with me. In April of 1965 at Chanute AFB we formed a very loose jug band in the barracks. Then, when I was assigned to High Wycombe Air Base outside London England, I got involved with the Ffilharmonious Jug Band from 1965 to 1968. That group was popular in the folk clubs and at the Universities across England and did cut an LP at Pinner Studios which I still have. Anyway, both the Even Dozen and the Kweskin Jug bands were huge influences on me which has lasted through my life.

This group has been added more for the amazing musicians who came out of the band, rather than the contributions they made while together.
